“Please do not throw your apple groats in the trash.” Of course, such statements by our Sustainability Officer Alex Jung do not always receive a friendly response. He is one of the protagonists who put our sustainability concepts to the test this year. And as a result we were awarded the \\\"Sustainable Company\\\" certificate. The principle that economy and ecology are not contradictions has long been part of our corporate strategy. We ourselves now consume 60% of the energy from our photovoltaic system. Our heating installation burns environmentally friendly wood waste from our production so efficiently that we can supply the excess heat to neighboring companies.

The designation as \\\"Sustainable Company\\\" means that sustainability is firmly anchored in its corporate culture. Our \\\"Sustainability Steering Group\\\" is composed of members of the various departments to consider what measures seem appropriate. For example, how do we optimize sustainable procurement? Should we introduce service bicycles for all employees or reward carpooling? Do we want to switch our lunch to \\\"organic\\\" from now on? We are excited about the ideas hitherto dormant in formundraum, just waiting to be implemented. Not only by the boss himself, but by all who work here.

And so the apple groats really do not belong in the trash. This quickly becomes self-evident, because in fact the insight encompasses much more: It is about a good working environment in a company with high quality standards.
